Today’s saint, Mechtild of Helfta, was a Saxon saint and Benedictine nun. Famous for her musical gifts, she also followed the Rule of our Holy Father St Benedict with great exactitude. Her feast is celebrated in the anniversary of her death, which took place on 19 November 1298.

May St Mechtild pray for us, and may God bless you this day.
