The water in the image below is so still that the reflection of the tree is perfect, complete in every detail. Such was Our Lady’s stillness and receptivity to God; she reflected perfectly all that the Father willed. And so, Our Lord was born.

Our own lives can sometimes be stormy, so that the presence of Christ in our hearts is obscured.  Our Lord says to us, as he said to the storm on the sea of Galilee, ‘Peace, be still!’

May there be in our hearts today a great calm, so that Christ’s life may be reflected in us; and may He bless you this day.
