Born in the year 1170, St Dominic quickly became known for his intellectual abilities. He is revered as the Founder of the Order of Preachers, who combined contemplative prayer with apostolic preaching. Tradition also tells us that Our Lady appeared and presented the Rosary to him, explaining its use both as a form of prayer and of evangelisation.

Today, may we take time to be with God, and in the strength of that encounter, to go forth to do His will; and may God bless you this day.
