From today’s New Testament reading: ‘Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us’.
St Thérèse of Lisieux, in her extended catechesis on Love, her poem ‘Vivre d’Amour’, wrote: ‘Living by Love is to hold You Yourself – Uncreated Word, Word of my God, – Ah! You know it, Divine Jesus, I love you – The Spirit of Love inflames me with his fire – It is in loving you that I draw the Father – My feeble heart holds him irrevocably … To live by Love is to sail unceasingly, – Sowing peace and joy in all hearts. – Beloved Pilot, Charity impels me, – For I see you in my sister souls. …’.
Today, may His Love grow in us, that we may ‘sow peace and joy’ in the hearts of all with whom we come into contact. May God bless you.
