From our first reading today, from the Book of Revelation: ‘Great and wonderful are thy deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are thy ways, O King of the ages! Who shall not fear and glorify thy name, O Lord? For thou alone art holy. All nations shall come and worship thee, for thy judgments have been revealed’.

These lines recall the Te Deum: ‘We praise Thee, O God; we acknowledge Thee to be the Lord. All the earth doth worship Thee, the Father everlasting. To Thee all Angels cry aloud, the Heavens and all the Powers therein. To Thee Cherubim and Seraphim continually do cry, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Sabaoth; Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty of Thy Glory …’

Today let us make time to adore the majesty and glory of the Lord, using our own words or words such as these. And let that adoration ‘spill over’ to our daily tasks, undertaken in His name; and may God bless you.
